Three gang members arrested in Merced

On Wednesday, January 3, 2018, the Merced Police Department’s Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) officers developed information that gang member Juan Ramos had a firearm and drugs at his residence. GVSU officers responded to his residence in the 1200 block of W 1st St in Merced where they contacted gang members Juan Ramos, Eliseo Ramos and Jose Lara. GVSU officers and Parole Agents conducted a parole search of his residence and located several large bags of methamphetamine, a digital scale, a semi-automatic rifle, ammunition and cash. All three gang members were arrested and booked at the Merced County Jail for felon in possession of a firearm, ammunition, sales of narcotics conspiracy and gang enhancements.
