Eric Reid, San Francisco 49ers Welcome Remarkable El Capitan Student-Athlete for “Winter Wish”

El Capitan High School junior Shane Carl was granted the wish of a lifetime last weekend. At the ECHS Winter Wishes Rally recently, Shane was nominated by a friend for his resilience and sheer determination to overcome an obstacle to remain successful in football, track and wrestling.  Shane’s faces the obstacle of being blind in his left eye.

Prior to last Sunday, Shane had never been to an NFL game or watched his favorite team, the 49ers, live and in person. But thanks to a counselor, Mr. Michael Abarca and staff at ECHS, the 49ers organization granted his wish with four tickets and four on-field passes for last Sunday’s game at Levi’s Stadium against the Tennesee Titans- a game the 49ers won.

ECHS staff and students also raised enough money to give Shane a jersey of his favorite 49ers player, star safety Eric Reid.

Congrats to Shane, his family and thank you to the hard work of Mr. Abarca, the ECHS staff, Eric Reid and the 49ers organization!
