(Video) Suspect Vehicle in Hit-and-run Video and Picture Released by Merced Police

The Merced Police Department responded to W. 18th and “R” Street for an injury traffic collision on December 4, 2017 at approximately 3:42 PM. When officers arrived they found a 3 year old female unresponsive in the roadway on “R” Street. Merced City Fire & Rescue and Riggs Ambulance arrived on scene. The child was flown to an area trauma center.

The vehicle that struck the child fled the scene, without stopping. The responsible vehicle is described as possibly a maroon or purple late 90’s Honda Accord. Merced Police Officers are actively investigating this case.

UPDATE

The Merced Police Department was informed early this morning that the 3 year old victim passed away due to injuries received in this hit and run crime. Officers are actively seeking the suspect and suspect vehicle. Officers have been able to recover video from various locations around the area.

In the attached video, you can see the suspect vehicle stopped for the red light. When the light turns green, the suspect vehicle turns left on “R” Street, hits the child and flees. Anyone with information is urged to call the Merced Police Department.
