Pedestrian struck by officer in Atwater

Around 7:50 pm tonight, an Atwater Police officer was in a struggle with a subject on Swaps Street. A pedestrian ran into the road on Bellevue Street near Constitution and was struck by a police officer who was responding to the Swaps Street incident to backup the other officer. The victim was flown to a trauma center with head injuries. The victim’s condition is unknown. We do not know the victim’s identity (and wouldn’t reveal it anyway), nor the identity of the police officer involved in the accident. We are sure this is traumatic for everyone, so please be patient as we await further details tomorrow.
