On Friday July 14, 2017, the Merced Police Department’s Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) officers developed information that Michael Hawkins had firearms and narcotics at his residence in the 2200 block of “F” Street in Merced. GVSU officers responded to his residence where they contacted Michael Hawkins in the front yard. GVSU officers searched his home with his consent and located a rifle, ammunition, packaged rock cocaine, digital scales, packaging material and cash inside the home. Michael Hawkins was arrested and booked at the Merced County Jail for firearm possession and sales of narcotics.
