This past weekend, 14 year-old Jesus Haro competed in the World Boxing Council green belt challenge. Fighters from all over the state and country compete for a chance to become the WBC amateur champion. Jesus fought two out of the three days of the competition and was crowned WBC amateur champion for his achievements and winning his fights. Jesus fought Manuel Rubacalba on the 16th and Steven Navarro on the 17th.

Jesus’ head coach for his team, Marcos Padilla, was given a small green belt as well and named the WBC amateur coach of the year.

Jesus and his brother Danny are hoping to one day compete in the olympics. They have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help raise money for necessary equipment, training, and travel costs.

Jesus is a student at Golden Valley High School and trains out of the Harobros Boxing Club of Merced and Dethrone of Fresno .
