On Wednesday, April 12 2017, the Merced Police Department’s Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) officers developed information that gang member Jeffrey Crawford was in possession of a firearm. GVSU officers responded to 6963 Cypress St in Winton where they contacted Crawford and Parolee Ervin Segebart at the residence. Officers conducted a probation / parole search and located a loaded 22 caliber semi-automatic rifle and ammunition.
Crawford and Segebart are convicted felons and cannot possess any firearms. Crawford was arrested for possession of a firearm, ammunition, warrants and gang enhancements. Segebart was arrested for possession of a firearm, ammunition and parole violation. Both suspects were booked at the Merced County Jail for the above mentioned charges.
