On Wednesday October 26 2016, the Merced Police Department’s Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) officers developed information that gang member Jason Mabrey was in possession of a firearm and narcotics. GVSU officers conducted a search of his home in the 100 block of E. 12th Street in Merced. During the search, GVSU officers located a 12 gauge shotgun, ammunition, marijuana and a Taser. Mabrey was arrested and later booked at the Merced County Jail for felon in possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, possession of marijuana, and possession of a Taser.
