On Thursday, September 29, 2016, the Merced Police Department’s Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) officers made contact with convicted felon Jesus Herrera (27), who was sitting in his car in the Unit block of E. Olive Avenue in Merced. Herrera admitted to having narcotics on him and had a suspended license. GVSU officers searched his vehicle and located a 45 caliber revolver, ammunition, and marijuana inside his vehicle.
Herrera is a convicted felon and cannot legally possess any firearms. He was arrested and booked at the Merced County Jail for felon in possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license.
