MERCED PD’S GVSU ARRESTS GANG MEMBER WITH THREE FIREARMS

On Wednesday July 27, 2016, Merced Police Department Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) Officers developed information that gang member Branden Blaine (26) had firearms at his residence in Livingston, CA. The Merced Police Department’s (GVSU) officers responded to his home located in the 1100 block of Newcastle Drive in Livingston.

Gang member Branden Blaine arrived home in his vehicle and was detained. GVSU officers searched his car and located 2 loaded semi-automatic handguns inside his vehicle. GVSU officers then searched his residence and located a stolen 380 caliber semi-automatic handgun, ammunition, gang attire, 20 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales and cash. He was arrested and booked at the Merced County Jail for being a gang member in possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property, sales of narcotics and gang enhancements.
