MERCED’S GVSU TAKES ANOTHER GUN AND DRUGS OFF OUR STREETS

On Thursday April 14, 2016 the Merced Police Department’s Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) developed information that gang member Cornelious Johnson had a warrant and was in possession of firearms. GVSU officers contacted Johnson at his residence in the100 block of W 20th St in Merced. GVSU officers arrested Johnson for his warrant and he admitted that he had a handgun inside his home. GVSU officers searched his residence and located a loaded 9mm handgun, ammunition and marijuana plants inside his home. He was arrested and booked at the Merced County Jail for felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession ammunition and gang enhancements.
