Last week, freelance photographer Pam Sofranek and her husband decided to getaway to the beautiful Monterey area.  They said the weather couldn’t have been better and it is well worth the trip to enjoy the beautiful scenery, marine life and just relax to the sound of crashing waves.

The lighthouse pictured is Point Pinos Lighthouse.  It was lit in 1855 to guide ships on the Pacific coast of California. It is the oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the West Coast of the United States and even the lens is original.

Here are a few of Pam’s photographs taken during their stay in Monterey.
