BULLET LODGED IN HEADREST DURING SHOOTING

On February 15, 2016 approximately 8:01 p.m., Atwater police officers were dispatched
to the area of Buhach and Juniper on a report of several shots fired. Upon arrival
officers did not locate anything in the area.  Shortly after checking the area officers were dispatched to Bobby’s Best Buy market located at Buhach & E. Bellevue road.

Officers contacted a 32-year-old male out of the Turlock area. The victim stated
he was a former gang member, but hasn’t been active in over five years.  He stated he was traveling northbound on Buhach near Juniper when he observed an older model Ford Crown Victoria pull up next to him.

He observed a Hispanic male adult make a statement in gang lingo. It was at that time when he saw the back window start to go down and the victim suspected he was going to be shot at.  Several different reports of one to seven shots fired were reported. Officers located one round
went through the driver side rear window and the bullet was lodged in the headrest.

No injuries were reported and no further evidence was located.
