SUSPECT APPREHENDED FROM LAST NIGHT’S OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING

On Saturday January 30, 2016, the Merced Police Department’s Detectives Division and the Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) developed information that Kamare Bailey (18) was involved in the Officer involved shooting from last night that occurred in the 1100 block of Crescent Drive in Merced CA.

The Gang Violence Suppression Unit and the Detectives Division served a search warrant in the 1500 block of E 26th Street, Merced CA and located Kamare Bailey hiding inside the home. Officers searched the residence and located a stolen 40 caliber handgun, a 9mm handgun and ammunition.

Kamare Bailey was arrested and booked at the jail for felon in possession of firearms, receiving stolen property, brandishing a firearm and gang enhancements.
